Are Panic Disorders a part of Depression?
Panic disorder is reoccurring panic attacks. It is an anxiety disorder. It includes both physical and emotional symptoms. There is a drastic change in the behavior of the patient during the panic attack episode. Panic attacks are quite common in any disorder that is connected with mental health. This also includes depression. However, not all people who suffer from depression have panic attacks. In cases of chronic depression in the patient, there are chances of panic disorders. Panic disorders along with anxiety disorders are part of depression in some cases. The symptoms of panic disorder include:

- Getting overly emotional
- Catastrophic thoughts
- Associated depression and stress
However, when the panic attacks are chronic they may include, chest pain, palpitation, sweating, faintness, dizziness, breathing problem and stomach problem. It is important to find out the causes of panic disorders first before starting the treatment. The best thing about panic attacks or panic disorders is that it is treatable. Self help strategies and strong support system can make good amount of difference in the patient. Some of the strategies which are found to be helpful in panic disorders are breathing exercises, visualization techniques, gradual exposure to different situations and muscle relaxation techniques.
