Can Thyroid Disease Cause Depression?
Lack of iodine in the human body causes thyroid disorder. Much of the world suffers from this disease due to absence or low consumption of iodine in their diet and/or high consumption of soy, corn, and plants like cabbage and Brussels sprouts. During thyroid a person experiences Weakness Fatigue, Intolerance to cold, Constipation, Weight gain, Depression, Joint or muscle pain, Thin, brittle fingernails and hair, Paleness and many more. Finally, this gives way to depression. There is also a TH imbalance in the thyroid affected patient. People suffering from thyroid disorder mostly have interrupted sleeps, because of which they experience attention deficits, apathy, short term memory loss and fatigue. It increases stress. These problems can affect people’s daily life and results into depression. In some cases, the level of cholesterol also increases which results in overweight. In an overweight person the level of cholesterol is high and the volume of blood running is also high due to which it becomes difficult to perform the day to day chores. This difficulty finally results into depression. Concluding, thyroid can be prevented by doing regular exercises, maintaining a healthy and balanced diet and regular checkups by an expert.
