How TCAs work?
Drugs that discharge tension, stress and anxiety are known as Tri Cyclic Antidepressants (TCAs) in medical terms. These are drugs that maintain neurological equilibrium in the human body, especially with the central nervous system and in turn adjust any prevailing mental health problems or psychological problems that may arise due to work pressure, added work load, mental stress, unexpected news, trauma and other physical or sociological issues.
The different chemical compounds present in a molecule of TCA releases enzymes that reduce the rate of destruction of neurotransmitters in the brain. When brain levels are gradually raised by lowering the process known as “uptakes”, the brain is stimulated and the condition of the brain is raised from a depressed to a relatively elevated state.
TCAs are used as first line treatments and in general terms they are considered to work by calming or soothing the nerves or neurons in the human cells. They are considered to be an effective cure for depression and are normally prescribed for 4 to 6 months for best results. Alongside medication, i.e. taking TCA pills with brand names such as Prozac, axil and Lexapro, one must eat health and nutritional food, maintain good lifestyle habits, exercise regularly and try and be cheerful and occupied in activities all the time.
