Sage for Fighting Depression
Sage is not only a spice used in the kitchen; it is also something that can be used in the natural herbal treatment of depression. Sage is an herb that is botanically a part of the mint family and has been in use as both a medicinal herb and for cosmetics since ancient times. Used as a medicinal herb it was used to calm the nerves in a decoction to provide the feeling of well-being.
Today it can be used to make a tea and strained, or found as sage oil in the health and nutrition shops. Because of the properties that are found in this relative of the mint plant to calm nerves and the lack of any side effects or drug interactions it can be used daily. The only possible side effect is a possible allergic reaction, which in most cases is extremely mild.
